To add to what others have said (get involved in F/OSS, chuck up a few personal projects on to GitLab or whatever...) also do the meet ups and other tech groups.

They usually have online gatherings and whilst it is harder to network just now, still doable.

Learn source control (branches, merges, patches, tests, comments, coding standards, CI, CD etc). After you've done that, learn it again because I can guarantee you were wrong the first time. Good source control has saved manys a project from being able to trace a problem back, to recover something or to prove compliance etc.

One bit of advice; if you can't run an automated test against it, then it is wrong. Go and do it again. Unless it's an edge case (these do happen).
