I'm not from here originally but have worked with a fair few black and brown folk born and raised in Glasgow and some of the stories they've told me about racism in their childhood would imply its not a new phenomenon. I think its just many people or colour feel more empowered to speak out against racism now where in the past they may of just tolerated it.
