Is it though, do you think the majority of people (not even just black people) either know or care about who the lads these statues represent were? Like you said, they're just fucking statues, what impact do they really have on anyone?

I agree with you though, they are just statues, I couldn't give a flying fuck if every one of them gets pulled down, or every one of them stays up forever.

I do think there's a very fine line between progressiveness and erasing history though. Glasgow especially has a horrendous past with racism and slavery, and I think changing street names and pulling down statues does nothing aside from let people forget that.
