According to the MPs statement to parliament, the owners have told HMRC all staff are still being paid, when they are not. This means they are ineligible for furlough and/or UC. Hospitality in this country is one of the worst industries for skirting workers rights and getting away with the bare minimum legally (or ignoring it altogether like in this case). |
