| Comment | Didn't say it would necessarily be a good idea, and the funding would need to be replaced by other revenue streams, be they business rates or central government funding. I'm not saying "Yeah we should definitely do it" but I always figured council tax would amount to something like 50%+ of the budget, 10% might just be possible to replace with other funding sources. It might well turn out to be unworkable, or that the costs would outweight the benefits, or just that the money could be used to greater benefits if used elsewhere than by giving residents a tax break, but I'd like to see a feasibility report on it at least. |
