This is such an important aspect of the issue around GCC that is so often forgotten. Since the introduction of austerity in 2010, council funding has reduced, services have suffered and some of the most vital aspects of council that serve the most vulnerable people in our city have been either been scaled back or done away with completely.

The most important factor however, is that this is not unique to Glasgow, Councils up and down the country are struggling with funding and all because of the ideological driven policies of the tory supporting in implementing Austerity.

There was a report last year that stated eight out of 10 councils in England were facing Bankrupcy, thats insane. In addition to that, Croydon council declared Bankrupcy at the end of last year and they are the second biggest London borough.

It's an endemic problem up and down the country and there is a refuse issue up here that needs to be dealt with by taking a new approach, but this is happening all over the country.
