At 6', I imagine a 22" would be about right, but almost nothing is standard - regarding either bikes or arm/leg length - so of course YMMV.

The *seemingly* cheapest would be a stolen bike for maybe £50 from round the Barras, but after you add in the cost/ hassle of replacing the bearings, grips, brakes, tubes & tyres, it's really not good value at all.

And £500 new at a retail bike shop won't buy much to be proud of.

But a good bit less than £300 will get you something really great somewhere like Bike for Good etc.

They take in good-quality older bikes and rebuild them with proper modern brakes and tyres. My partner's bike was a steal at £125 some years ago. Anything comparable new would've been silly money more. And she likes it much more than the old $2000 touring bike.
