| Comment | My current letting agent didn’t take the deposit until after they’d accepted our application for the property. However, my last letting agent (KPM) got me to pay a deposit over the phone when I called them straight after viewing the property and expressed interest in renting it. This then went into the deposit protection scheme and became my actual deposit. I think it is quite common practice but don’t know the legality of it. |
