Comment | I was just about to say that. I understand that existing British citizens would have that problem but when I applied for a my British citizenship (in late 2016/17 I had to provide paper statements - printed from online didn’t count. Had to go to the branch to have them stamped, luckily they had some sort of stamping machine that did it, but even that apparently is quite uncommon and I’d hear all sorts of nightmare stories from people whose banks didn’t even have a way to stamp them, or wouldn’t.
Even now - if you need to make a fairly large transfer (let’s say you’ve sold your house, and you’re renting and need to use that cash to buy another house) - you can’t do that online, you need to go into a branch so that a manager can approve it. |
