The difference in Govanhill though is that the number of social housing units is actually increasing, private flats are being purchased by The Housing Association at a pretty reasonable rate. Add that to the fact Right To Buy is no longer an active policy, then it certainly reduces the risk of people who have lived there for years being forced out.

It is being gentrified and we will continue to see a slow rise in flat prices as people who can't afford Strathbungo, Battlefield and Shawlands move over, but with the Housing Association increasing the number of social housing units it should limit that gentrification to a certain degree.
