I say this personally as someone with a car who also runs and hillwalks and I would desperately love to be out in the hills - literally every weekend of my 'normal' life is spent out in the wilds - but if everyone went out to the hills then that's where the crowds would be. That's how it was last summer, if you remember.
I don't drive anywhere to exercise, because I don't need to. I would love to, but I don't **need** to. When the guidance permits, then I will be the first person sprinting up the Kilpatricks. Right now it's pretty clear that's not what I should be doing.
