| Comment | Tbh I would say that walking anywhere at night presents it’s own challenges. Oatlands is a good development, right in the edge of the Gorbals. Have a look into the history of the Gorbals and you will see what a massive redevelopment took place there. Still wouldn’t walk home from town at night.
Maryhill is nicknamed ScaryHill... take from that what you need. My mums friend moved to Maryhill in the 80’s and her whole tenement was run by a family on the ground floor... rather than paying factor fees, she had to pay the family to protect the building. Funny anecdote now, but pretty scary at the time as she recalled. |
