I think for a lot of us, it just stems from having to put up with these types of people since we were wains, especially being in a Catholic school or something like that (which I was).

You'd be treated differently for not being quite as into it (I quite like football, I was just no good at it). Then you're dealing with families that use the old firm as an excuse to get steaming, where you'd be praying your side won or you'd be dealing with angry drunk pricks for the rest of the day.

Then you get the whole violence associated with it (thankfully not as bad, these days), the whole "lad culture" aspect of it, which can get a bit over the top, and the general "fuck you, this is more important than everything else" attitude and you can understand why some people's reaction is to just say fuck the whole sport.

Like I said, I actually quite like football, and if Scotland do well at the Euros, I hope we can all go mental together. But the shit at George Square was just a giant middle finger to anyone who's been following the rules, that's the "fuck you" attitude I'm on about.
