| Comment | I think their motivation is protecting house prices rather than community work. We asked friends of North Kelvin Meadow for support in saving the elephant park a few blocks north of the meadow and they weren't interested. Council went ahead and sold the land. Now we have neighbours across the road who live in North Kelvinside and us, still Maryhill. No doubt we'll see rent increases as a result.
Yes, the meadow is lovely but once you've sat in a community council meeting with the North Kelvinsiders you'll quickly realise they care not a jot about the working class or anything that doesn't concern their house prices. |
