Watch out for “free” mortgage advisors trying to over sell you insurance (that’s how they get commission). They really over push added critical illness cover on top of life insurance etc but if you actually read into it, insurance companies will only pay once...either when you get ill or when you die. Not both!

I know a lot of people on here have had a positive experience with First Mortgage but my advisor was awful. Impossible to get hold of, changed mortgage provider without telling us etc. So if you do use an advisor, then learn the basics beforehand so you don’t get taken advantage of :)
