It looks as if all that the regeneration quangos have achieved in 40 years is to paint a redundant strip of green paint there, knock down that low wall, close the cafe (would be pretty grim on a grey day anyway) and knock down that gazebo thing, thus making the bandstand into a desolate cul-de-sac. I mean, GCC never liked open air bandstands because they're not private and distract people from shopping.
