What I have seen in all the flats is planks of wood for the flooring loosely laid across the ground. Air gaps and noise vibration bad for sound travelling through the material and airborne. An 8 inch or so air gap then the neighbours ceiling below.
None of the above is sound insulation. This is across Glasgow.
Only buildings which are the exception are the tall high rise buildings, I believe they are constructed from concrete. They are good at sound insulation. |
