I tried to adopt a cat from a pet rescue. Live in rural area in ground floor flat surrounded by lots of open space, woodlands and greenery. Only traffic is local residents joining county road, with sleeping policemen keeping speed right down. I was refused on the basis that there was a bus stop nearby. I had no idea what they were talking about at first, then realised there was a dead end at the back of the houses, and one of those small buses comes up at about 10 miles an hour (bumps in the road), stops and turns round. I reckon they must have tons of cash to spare if that's the way they decide applications.
Anyway, the local stray, who has been living outdoors and feeding in various people's houses for the last 10 years noticed that I was home all the time when lockdown started last year in March, and decided to move in with me. I'm his new maid/ butler/ housekeeper. Bloody MacTavish.
