| Comment | Nope I don't think they need taxed, they're a greener way to travel and I cycle for most local journeys myself.
The issue I see when driving though is that if I'm on an emergency call out in a 2 tonne fully loaded van and I get stuck behind a flock of cyclists going two abreast on a country road, how am I reasonably meant to overtake? Equally, had it happen that as I'm approaching a T junction I've had cyclists think they can "nip through" the lights with me slowing down to suit them, again not always an easy feat with tools and replacement parts on board the van.
Respectful cyclists are no issue at all but as with anything the minority are making things worse for everyone. Yes I'm more dangerous to them than they are to me but that's not an excuse to have no accountability on one side. |
