Comment | If you fancy a challenge, you can actually make some pretty solid bagels at home without having to lye bath them. I was in a similar position to you last year, and decided on an hour's notice to bake some myself. First batch turned out at a 7/10, better than shop bought bagels but obv not as good as the real thing. Second batch the next day was closer to an 8.5/10 - turned out so well that I started reconsidering buying them from a bakery, instead just to bake them myself. |
