Either improve the way we can use the website / app to report fly tipping, bin overflowing, missed bin collection etc. Or bring back twitter Task Force team.
With task force I coukd take a pic, provide a location and send in 20 secons + get a rep.
With the app / website you need to sign in, navigate the slow and cumbersome interface and it takes ages. For things like fly tipping I just give up. The council need to realise the people reporting are not moaning they are the eyes and ears. Also they need to take these reports to build better collaboration strategies instead they just use them as single reports to fix. They are missing the bigger picture.
The 3 week green bin collection is a mistake. It will see an increase in contaminated recycling bins, fly tipping, overflowing Street bins and will be wholesale counter to a refuse strategy. The only thing it will do for the council is reduse the fleet activities. Wealthy area will simply buy 2 green bins.
City Centre graphiti is a disgrace.
A forward looking council would improve the website and app so residents can actually track all of the above including bin collection stats and live collection so missed bins are pro actually flagged rather than residents flagging. |
