I'm not saying the council should know about every issue and fix it before people complain, but simply highlighting that if there are issues on your street/journey to work/walk in the park, we should be reporting them so the council know.

Too many people think "ah well someone will have reported that" but in many cases they haven't.

To put my points into context. Next to where I live, there's a road, with a footpath next to it. All the gulleys/drains on the road and blocked to the top with silt/sand/dirt.

Anytime it rains the left hand lane of the road floods completely and the footpath too, it's dangerous for pedestrians to walk past this as there are walls of water every time a car goes past, making the footpath unusable for most of the winter.

I reported it last week, the council came out, unblocked one of the gulleys and marked the job complete. Left all the rest of them on that street which were only a few meters away from the one they unblocked.

Called the council, got put through to be told that I only reported the one drain and to report them all if they are all blocked.

That's an instance where I can't believe no one from the council hadn't walked/driven this route in the rain and saw it, reported it for the entirety of six months as it's opposite a council run refuse site. Even when I did, they done as little work as possible because the other drains "weren't reported" despite being physically blocked.
