Comment | Bins are a big one, but let's be honest, most people don't care about what goes in what bin. When I'm out walking the dog I see loads of black bin bags with general rubbish in blue bins. In some areas the bin men do a job of checking, but in the schemes they just take it and take the contaminated load to general waste. 3 weekly uplift is fine if you have public buy-in but when a large portion of the council area population just see a bin as a bin and the bin men are not in a position to challenge it, they aren't paid enough, the issue will never be resolved. They are putting the cart before the horse here by setting up a sensible rota of bin collections before the majority of the public are willing to do it [disclaimer: taking about house collections, not flats, flat collection is just a mess] |
