| Comment | Yet another voice saying the goddamn bins. I honestly don't know what my council tax has paid for in the last year. The rates are through for this year and they've gone up a smidge. Pray tell - what have my council taxes ACTUALLY paid for this past year? It hasn't been graffiti removal, because I've been trying to get some removed since March and have been informed that the service has been suspended indefinitely even though this is an outdoor, "specialist" team that could presumably have operated during covid - but I suppose the lure of the Westminster covering their wages was too great. It hasn't been to eradicate fly tipping, because that is WILD in my area in the last year. It hasn't been to collect the compost/food waste, because that's been suspended for a full year too. It hasn't been to replace our bins like the leaflet I received stated would occur last year because I still have the teeny tiny useless blue bin for a close of 8 flats that has been collected at most once every three weeks last year and has now gone AWOL. It hasn't been to collect the communal recycling collection points as they frequently get so full and left to fester that I take photos and tweet them in horror that they can let this happen to our city. It hasn't been to keep the pavements clean because they're covered in dog shite and smashed glass.
