Comment | I mean, the West Highland Line is super useful for bike trips, so during non-covid times, take train to Arrochar, cycle from there to Fort William and then train back! Very enjoyable to do.
However, certain things piss me off to no end - for example sometimes they only allow 2 bikes per train for the Glasgow-Inverness one despite plenty of space available.
I think I agree with you, I don't have faith in the Scottish government doing anything and the car-focused society seems to be the status quo so I'll either move to a different country or just take the cost penalty and get a car (and insurance which is a killer in the UK). |
