That emigration remark was mostly in humour :) overall I am quite satisfied here! Scotland is definitely better than England for allowing bicycles on trains, you are right about that. However... Germany/Switzerland are definitely better, albeit quite a high standard to beat.

The Arrochar to Fort William is mostly A road, however the traffic was pretty light the last time I went in summer 2019. The highlights are: Rest and Be Thankful Viewpoint (and an epic climb), Inveraray in its entirety, a free campsite overlooking Loch Awe ruins (so you split the ride into two days), and then the road from Taynuilt to Connel is very scenic and of course you have the Glencoe/Ballachulish views! So for a starter 2-3 day overnighter, I think it's one of the best rides in Scotland, definitely recommend it.
