| Comment | It drives me mad as well. I do have a car and use it for my work (but not for breaking Covid rules by travelling for fun) and my partner was supposed to have her driving test A YEAR AGO (second attempt after barely failing the first one).
It is now impossible due to Covid crap.
Usually when we go to work and she's not working from home I give her a lift on the way to my work, often picking her also on the way back if the times match.
But last year I badly injured my knee and was out of commission for more than three months. She is a perfectly capable driver and gained further experience driving me to my oshysiotherapy appointments and basically driving us everywhere, but she was unable to go to work on her own, as no full license.
While I was able to crawl to the car and sit in it while she drove shopping, then wait in the supermarket car park and be chauffered get back, I was obviously not able to wait outside her work for a full day. So as a result she had to walk to work 30 minutes each way in the worst weather of Scottish winter - as we try to avoid public transport for obvious reasons.
So over last year she has became pretty capable driver, yet she can only use it to chauffer me around but can't use it to gain some freedom herself. It sucks. |
