| Comment | The SIMD isn’t a map of poor or crappy areas - it factors in all sorts of things, such as access to transport etc.
An area may appear ‘less blue’ but it is not a worse area than somewhere that is dark blue. I wouldn’t pay it _too_ much attention as a whole, and instead use the aggregated data to drill down for specific things if that’s what you are _really_ interested in, e.g. geographic access domain rank. But there are better and more accurate ways to find out about an area tbh.
As someone else has also said, you can find riches and then poverty within reach of each other. ‘Tis the Greater Glasgow/West of Scotland way. |
