Agreed, Queen's Crescent was a lovely practice whilst I was there.

I would add for OP. If you have previously been diagnosed with something it helps going into the appointment with a clear purpose. I've found when I already knew my diagnosis and I could articulate what I needed it was a much faster process. I moved from a foreign country here too, I had medications I was on that needed equivalents and follow up for existing conditions. I could say "I've made this appointment because I was diagnosed with X so I'm hoping you can start the process with y because that would have been what happened next back in z"

This makes their job much easier as they just go, alright no exploration needed and refer you to the next step of the process and you'll go into the waitlist and get a letter out for the next available appointment.

On the other hand if you're too vague or are looking for them to figure out what's wrong and what comes next you may have a tougher time on your hands. My partner was turned away 7 times before finally being referred to a surgeon - who then immediately booked him for an op.

You have to be firm, and determined within the NHS.

Go, say you need a referral to an endocrinologist, suggest they do a fresh set of bloods at the same time so there's a record in your file and be firm saying you know that's what you need. Then wait for your letter.

Best of luck!!
