School places for August start have already been allocated - the applications go in the November before. It would be a good idea to try to contact a few schools around the areas you think you might like to live to see if they have places, as some might be full at this stage. There were also a lot of parents deferred their children from starting last August due to the pandemic, so this August might be busier than normal.

There are a lot of primary schools in Glasgow though, so you will get something. The Uni will have a department that helps students and staff that are relocating with families, so reach out to them for help - they will be able to help with finding housing too.

If you do contact schools over the next few weeks, don’t worry if you don’t get a reply straight away - the schools stop this Thursday for a 2 week Easter holiday and are not back until 19th April.

Glasgow is generally a friendly and multi cultural city - my son is the same age as your child and his school has 28 languages spoken in it. I hope you and your family enjoy the move!
