I had Avoca Wood Sanding do my downstairs floor, sanded the old lacquer off and oiled it for me. Very decent price too considering how long it took. I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself, you can hire the equipment but its easy to make marks on the floor with the machines if you're not competent.
