Yeah, did this for 2 years. 7:15 train out and at best the 6PM train home. It is horrible, there’s no getting away from it - the cheapest way to do the train was the 25-30 railcard for me. You’ll get a seat 99% of the time from Queen St but it can get busy and standing room only further along the line.

Make sure you get the express train from the high level and not the low level also, takes twice as long.

Also, you can get a warm can of tennents from a trolley for those ‘fuck this noise’ days. What more could you ask for?
