I agree. My worry is that a Green council would, understandably, seek to do what they can with the powers they have, and because they only have local power, will *not* be able to impose themselves on large businesses, and will end up with no option to achieve their goals other than doing things like shrinking our general waste bins, or making it impossibly expensive to own a car without a driveway (this could be done scarily easily by introducing high charges for street parking), for example. This is admittedly without considering things they would do of which I'd approve.

The manifesto link is irritating too, particularly their points about waste and incineration: if we can use power from sources like wind/hydro/nuclear, the waste that isn't economical to recycle can literally be reduced to atoms with things like [plasma gasification/pyrolysis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasma_gasification). Do we really want to remove that possibility?
