The path is wide enough for everyone and if used sensibly (like this) then it should keep things flowing better than just a free for all.
People don’t want their toes run over by bikes and cyclists don’t want to have to brake every two seconds to avoid hitting pedestrians. I don’t see why anyone would have an issue with this set up but that’s just my opinion :)
