Did Film Media/ Journalism at Stirling.
Best part about it is they let you take elective modules in 1st and 2nd year outwith your degree so I took philosophy and sport studies etc to give it a bit of a freshen up at times.
There’s a Journalism society but i never joined.
Tbh - the course itself is hit and miss. It’s really shaped by the tutors there at the time. We had one module which was basically just ultra-feminist thinking disguised as modern cultural theory which made me feel uncomfortable. We also had to watch a man be beheaded in war studies and another lecturer (now at another uk uni) used to shout about ‘dying for your sources’.
Don’t expect a job either - i know of 3 people who work in creative roles in the media from my year group
Edit to add - Stirling is good fun to live in as a student though. Much better than UWS lifestyle wise. The campus is great too |
