Problem you might have is there is a huge shortage of bikes and bike parts due to covid. Demand has gone through the roof.

Yes you will find a bike but no big discounts. If its just to travel to uni and back definitely try Bike for Good as the other person suggested, they do a lot of 2nd hand reconditioned bikes. Also look online or Dale's in the city have a large showroom.


As far as local shops in the west end I recommend West end cycles (George is a grumpy cunt but if you can look past that prices are decent for service and repairs), bike Hive (james very technical and knows his stuff but can take a few days to get your service done), bike for good I have found decent for quick repairs. Gears (personally I always find they fix the parts you could probably get 500 miles more from, that's fine if you do 5000 a year but if you only do 1000 then that's 6 months usage they just replaced. Velo I have not been to but I hear Paum is very good.
