I’ve grew up in the east end (Carntyne) and now live in Baillieston. Every area will have little parts that are bit rougher and more run down than others, but they are usually easily to tell apart.
I often hung about Tollcross in my school days and never felt any more scared or concerned than anywhere else. I would just avoid the areas that are visibly a bit rough.
One suggestion though, I don’t know your traveling to and from work plans. But Tollcross doesn’t have a train station, incase that’s how you were planning to travel to Edinburgh etc. Carntyne station could be close depending where the house is. And Somewhere like Garrowhill/Baillieston/Swindon is much closer to all motorway routes and several train stations nearby for Central and Queen st. |
