I wish the people on this thread would stop pushing the narrative about "good schools" and "bad schools".

The league tables are nothing more than people with money = more likely to have the ability to get their kids tutors and a better socio-economic background. It's disgusting to, yet again, put another enagtice slant on areas that aren't deemed "wealthy".

I don't have kids but I have several friends and relatives who teach (across the board of higher and lower ranked schools) and they too agree that these league tables donnothing but massage the egos of these parents and inflate house prices. There are some fantastic schools that don't rank high and it isn't the schools fault. Teachers work tirelessly. The worst thing we did was to create these tables that pit everyone against each other instead of focussing on important issues.

OP, the East End had a lot off issues back in the day but it's becoming very gentrified and full of newer private housing estates. As others said, have a few visits at various times of the day and days of the week and join a few local Facebook groups (there may be one for the housing estate as well). Good luck.
