I may live in my own little bubble, but I'm shocked that grown adults are actually commenting and making faces at someone else because of a shaved head and staples. My own mother had to have a brain tumor removed which required her head to be shaved and staples placed at the removal sight. I just kind of figured adults would know it's not something to be afraid of or laugh about. Most children know this too!
As for what you can do, be thankful the surgery was a success and keep your head up. As soon as your head starts to be a bit more tolerable of hats, definitely wear those, but for now just try to ignore as much as you can. Those types of people are the worst. I'm baffled.
Also, take this into account: outside of those who have been cruel enough to make pointed comments, no one is thinking about us or noticing us as much as we think they're thinking about us or noticing us. |
