Gentrifying using motors now? Jesus, man. I stay in a house with a driveway and say people can own a car wherever they stay. You pay for the car, the insurance, the tax. Why shouldn't they be allowed just because of their housing situation.
I'm from Castlemilk and did nightshifts at Bellshill. If I did a Saturday nightshift and finished at 7am, I wouldn't get home until 10am with public transport due to sunday service (this was before I could drive) and a taxi is the best part of £20. This made me pass my test and get a car and cut my commute from 1hr 20 mins on a normal day and 3hrs on a Sunday down to 20 minutes every day.
I can't be arsed doing a 7pm to 7am nightshift and waiting 3 hours to get home cause a half service runs on a Sunday.
Whether I stay in a house or a flat shouldn't define whether I'm allowed a motor or not. |
