The UK has one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in Europe, but it has been decreasing over the past few years. I doubt it relates to school rankings. I went to a mid-tier (going by the league table) school that sat in between a mix of expensive private estates, older bought ex-council houses and existing council schemes. There were three pregnancies in the 2 years I was there and no knife or drug problems.

The three pregnancies did not affect my friends or I's education at all, and you're living in a fantasy land if you think your kids won't act like teenagers and have a sneaky underage drink - we all done it, but nobody touches drugs. In fact, the most drugs I ever saw when at parties at high school were ones my cousins (who all went to the private High School of Glasgow) went to. Being a spoiled brat goes hand in hand with thinking you're a Playboy at 17 in your parents big house.

It's a bit extreme to think that the schools in Scotland are full of teenage girls up the duff and manic drug problems. Unless your friend lived in a very rundown area I'm gonna have to go with my thinking that they're grossly exaggerating.
