No mortgage experience here, but lived on a town high street for 8 years directly opposite a takeaway and pub, and almost above a nightclub.
It sucked. The noise, the fights pretty much every weekend, seagulls and detritus from the night before every morning outside my front door. I wouldn't do it again. Tread carefully friend.
