GP has zero influence on time line. Trust me. I'm a GP. Patients may phone referral management or secretary of consultant to chase their referral and often told to `get your GP to write a letter'. This is a way of getting you off the phone. Only time a letter IS relevant is if changes/worsening of symptoms.
