Galloway forest as mentioned is the best place I have found so far, its a long days cycle but a very pleasant one mostly on national cycle routes and the dark sky is up there with the best in the world.
I havent camped up the Campsies yet although been planning to but don't feel that confident about how dark it will be, I have camped at the top of loch lomond ([https://www.instagram.com/p/CEhs-WRDptw/](https://www.instagram.com/p/CEhs-WRDptw/)) before which was a nice cycle + campsite but not particularly dark sky, as you get a bit more north though it seems like it should be good. Glasgow produces a serious amount of light at night so its mostly about getting far enough away I think |
