I think in many cases you are quite right, but let's not forget that newer (you can do PCP on used and nearly new cars, I have a 2015 Polo) will likely have better mileage and not be as likely to break down. That's my main draw for PCP, get a reasonably new car with low monthly payments, then swap it for the same. I'm not that into cars, just want something for the weekly shop and the commute to Edinburgh when that starts again. So comfortable, cheap, and reliable means PCP ticks the boxes.

As I say, I'm not really into cars, so if I'm actually making a terrible mistake I'm very happy to be corrected!
