Hey. With respect - there’s a few reasons:

1) People typically don’t like renting to students as they are more likely to damage properties, create noise, default on rent etc. Parents usually act as guarantor on rent but that wouldn’t work for you as if you default on rent they cannot take your parents to a UK court as they’re abroad.

2) People without jobs are more likely to default on rent. That’s just a fact unfortunately so if 10 people apply for the flat you’re looking at and they’re all employed, they’ll take priority over you.

3) EU students in the UK don’t have the best track record paying back loans. I think about £600 million from EU students is owed to the UK in loans that have been defaulted on.

My own brother in law is an example of this (disappeared home and stopped paying the loan. No intention to either apparently).

4) The rental market in glasgow is red hot - if you owned a flat would you rather rent to an resident engineer, a civil servant etc with a guaranteed income or an international student? UK based professional renters would be less likely to default on rent and easier to take to court if they did.

You’d be better off (as I did in 2017) renting a room in shared house or looking to specific student accommodation.
