I'd also note that while it does get cheaper, there does appear to be a 'base' level no amount of no-claims or choice of car will get you below, that comes from the risk of street parking in Glasgow - when I lived outside the city with a cheap, low risk car and lots of no-claims built up and off-street parking I could get insurance for less than £150 but since I moved to a flat in the city without dedicated parking I've struggled to get quotes under £400, this seems to be the minimum.
