I'd avoid Countrywide, who I will refer to as Cuntrywide from here on. Had a flat on Bell St, good price for the size, but it was a bit run down and they were useless. Had to chase up issues constantly, they lost their set of keys to give to workmen but never told us so any repairs that needed doing never happened on the first arranged date because we were out and the workmen couldn't get in. The flat above had a water leak that came through our ceiling, their emergency water contact number in the TA was just some national 9-5 Scottish Water thing that wasn't for emergencies. It took weeks to sort out, they just didn't care. Then at the end of the lease, on the last day they could contest it, they tried to keep half of our deposit for cleaning even though we left the place in a better state than we found it. Fought it and got it all back, but it took two months. I'm now looking at buying in the next 12-18 months and wouldn't even enquire about a property they advertise.
