| Comment | We should really press our government via the health minister on this subject. My wife is from Poland and she has had a very similar experience. GPs just brushing things off and saying all is fine when in fact it is not. Only when she became pregnant with twins and was shown the extra special attention to detail by the Queen Elizabeth Maternity Unit was it discovered that she has PCOS and ideally she should have been receiving medication for this for years as it can develop into diabetes if left untreated.
People here always put out the fanfare for our NHS, treating it like a religion, when in actual fact there are plenty of problems with primary care and most of them lie with GPs who are the "first line support" and in many cases don't do their job properly. |
