Yeah, unless you keep the cat fully zipped into the pram or bag, the risk is always there. I never let him out of the pram unless we’re in a secluded place, and I’m always ready to scoop him up. (Usually my wife and I keep lookout in both directions and announce the presence of any incoming dogs) The few times I’ve allowed a well mannered dog to approach him in his pram, he’s given them a rapid ‘bop’ on the nose when they got too close. I’ve yet to have a dog even bark at him, most don’t even notice him. He has pretty good sense for danger, and will always let himself back in if he doesn’t feel safe. He spent most of his life as a die hard outdoor cat (we couldn’t keep him in no matter how hard we tried) so I consider this to be a lot less risky than when he was unsupervised out on his own. I especially watch out for certain breeds of dogs, terriers, basically anything with a noted prey drive, and am extra avoidant of them. It isn’t their fault they’re wired that way, and I’d rather not set them off. I had a nervous wee dog in highschool who didn’t handle other dogs well, so same rules apply really.

I would like to take him to a bigger park like pollok, where we could maybe get a bit more space from other park goers, but it’s much farther away.
